We want to take our country back.

  • We wear Holy masks not to deceive, but to endure. They are the sacred expressions we put on when life demands more than we feel we have. A smile in the storm. A prayer through pain. A calm voice when the soul trembles.

    These masks have an upside:

    • They help us show up when we’d rather hide.
    • They offer comfort to others even when we’re hurting.
    • They remind us of who we long to be — faithful, strong, gracious.

But there’s a downside too — one we rarely name:

    • Holy masks can silence our fear, not heal it.
    • They can hide our need for help behind a veil of strength.
    • They can become so familiar that we forget what’s underneath.

Sometimes, we wear them so long that even we don’t know what’s real anymore. We confuse the mask with the soul. And in trying to be holy, we forget that honesty is holy too.

There’s a time to wear the mask. And there’s a time to gently remove it — in safe spaces, with trusted hearts, before a God who sees through it all and loves us still.

🎭 Holy Masks: Graceful Covers, Hidden Costs

I started out trying to make Holy masks the bad guy in this story. But the truth is more complex. There is value in Holy masks — they help us show up when we’re hurting, speak peace when we’re shaken, and reflect light even when we feel dim.

    But there is danger too.

Fear is not something Believers are meant to carry in their hearts. That’s Biblical. And masks — even Holy ones — can hide fear. They can also hide identity. Who you really are. And if you don’t see yourself clearly, how can God heal what’s broken?

Holy masks are up to you.

Do you want to hide from the truth? Or do you want to drop the mask and face it — with Jesus by your side?

Wake up You Modern Day Saducees and Pharisees
That line hits like a trumpet blast — bold, biblical, and uncompromising. It’s the kind of call that doesn’t whisper, it confronts. If you’re ready to build a post around it, here’s a draft that could follow your “Holy Mask” theme and serve as your final Concord Rise message for now:

“Wake Up, You Modern-Day Sadducees and Pharisees”

You preach purity but protect power. You quote scripture but silence the Spirit. You wear robes of righteousness but walk with hearts of stone.

You’ve built temples of ego and called them churches. You’ve traded revelation for reputation. You’ve made holiness a performance, not a posture.

Jesus didn’t come to endorse your systems — He came to expose them. He didn’t die to preserve your platforms — He died to redeem your people.

    So wake up.

    Tear down your golden altars.

Let go of your polished prayers.

Stop guarding the gate and start washing feet.

The Holy Mask is cracking. The remnant is rising. And the One you claim to represent is calling you to repent.

This is my final post for now. I’m stepping back to reflect, recharge, and prepare. But the truth doesn’t sleep — and neither should you.

  • “Our nation is free” Free — except when Uncle Sam says no. Freedom with conditions, liberty with a leash. We wave flags, but sometimes forget who’s holding the pole. “Success equals wealth” And wealth equals success — Until it bankrupts our soul, Until the gold we chase rusts our connection to God. “Technology will save us” Except when it owns us. We scroll, swipe, and surrender — Trading wisdom for algorithms, silence for notifications. “The Church is where God lives” But God is not confined to stained glass and sermons. He walks in the wind, rests in the trees, And maybe — just maybe — He’s more at peace in nature Than in pews filled with performance.

  • Halloween is approaching Masks are part of Halloween, a pagan holiday We wear invisible masks as well as physical masks Did you know that? Pride, fear, shame, even faith mask things we do not want the world to see We are so concerned about what people will think about the real me, that it becomes buried in the mess of ourselves we present to the public Most of us are not bad people, but the public demands perfection, and none of us fits into that category, so we pretend to be perfect How sad God cannot work with a prideful person Humble yourself and admit you are not perfect Then God can make some headway in turning things around Are you wearing an invisible mask today?

  • I shed a tear Not out of fear But concern The world did burn With the acts of Satan Nation against nation Racism found at every turn Does it exist? I have yet to learn Bad actors not held accountable The Hollywood crowd indominable Good guys held in contempt Those with money exempt Our justice system is a mess I must confess Ah, but God’s is not His is not an act, not a plot It is seeking and finding truth Just as sure as I am not Babe Ruth The world system will perish And that God’s will prevail, I cherish

  • So the song says Born away from the city lights Yet, the boondocks seem to be where America still has what our founders had in mind when they started this country Biblical values Honesty, Compassion, Love, Integrity, Devotion, Patriotism, and God at the center of most of our endeavors Down in the Boondocks For all the flair of city life, I would opt for Boondock life any day of the week Crime is rampant, dishonesty is a hallmark of the movers and shakers, Living so tight and yet you do not know your next door neighbor by name Where would you rather be New York or Calvert City?

  • Yesterday, I saw three people, two were a couple and I saw two different way of saying Look At Me One was a man in a neon, glow at night, shirt The couple wore clothes that indicated they were either Mennonites or Amish, plain and not flashy Both said Look AT Me, but for different reasons The neon draws attention because it is flashy The plain garb says the same because it is peculiar, and that is something Believers are told to be in the Bible Two value systems on display in a Love’s parking lot One that place value on being seen The other has faith that does not need flash to be seen Which category do you put yourself in? Is your value based on being seen and noticed in a world that puts value on that or it is just basically let God handle the visibility? I am interested in any tales you might have had in other parking lots that pointed out this phenomenon Email me at rbrow@mail.com or make a comment

  • Life in the Fast Lane

On the interstate I often when younger passed trucks and cars going 90 plus MPH, but I eventually found out that I did not get ahead of them for long They would just pass me on down the road when I stayed withing the speed limit Is that not how we try to live today Get as much done as quickly as we can I have almost been run over by people in such a rush to get a candy bar My personal pace is a lot slower now than it was even 5 years ago Whatchamacalits are great candy bars, but rushing to get one Not for me I allow for God to set my pace and He is in no rush He builds foundations, not fast lanes It is the original Rock I have built on That solid rock mentioned in the hymn and all the storms of life can knock down what I build on it, but the Rock remains steadfast and sure Are you caught up in the fast lane? or do you have a story of standing on the Rock to share? Love to hear either my email address is rbrow@mail.com

  • Jesus said to His disciples Take Up Your Cross And Follow Me His disciples did not figure it out until He had been crucified, but, when they did, the church was born God’s church, not the modern version of the church, God’s church lives in Believer’s lives not in sprawling campuses or coast to coast broadcasts We are called to take up our cross and follow Him He spoke to the unsaved as we must do He challenged the unseemly status quo as we must do He loved the unlovely as we must do I plan to lighten it up some next week So, consider this a final chance to get motivated to take on corruption in real life situations We do need to do something soon to combat the decline of America’s Biblical character Is there a time in your life when you took up your cross or sacrificed comfort for conviction? I did email me at rbrow@mail.com

  • Verse 1
This land is your land, this land is mine We own it, lock, stock, and barrel, by design Some think they’re too grand, too elite to hear They sing another carol, but we’re still near It may be time to lock and load But first, unite—let strength be shown We’re birds of one feather, bold and true And now it’s time to break on through

    Verse 2
We’ll make waves from coast to coast From left-leaning shores to Tennessee’s post Like Casper the Ghost, we’ll glide unseen Till our voice is heard, loud and keen We’ll rally, rise, and make
our way To DC’s gates one fateful day And when we stand, the truth will roar As we begin the final score

    Verse 3
We rise with truth, not empty noise With grit and grace, we find our voice From Calvert’s heart to Capitol Hill We march with purpose, iron will No longer silent, no longer small We stand as one—we stand for all The bell may crack, but still it rings Concord Voice, the song it sings

    Chorus
Do all you can, then stand We are on sacred land God gave it to us So let us push Till we can push no more Then stand—and settle the score
